Paul Hason
Paul Hason returns for his fifth season (2011) with the SMU men's soccer team and oversees the goalkeeping position. Since coming to SMU, Hason's goalkeepers have posted 22 shutouts, and he helped coach Steve Sandbo to All-Conference USA honors in 2007.
Hason is the executive director of Dallas Soccer and is proud to continue his family's soccer tradition - his brother, Peter, was letterwinner at SMU, and his father, Frank, was a volunteer assistant coach at SMU. Following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps, Hason has become the third generation to reach the professional level as a player and coach. Hason holds several National Coaching Licenses and is continually involved with coaching seminars across the country.
He has served as a Youth Coach since 1990 and continues in that role. Hason also was an assistant coach at Texas Woman's University from 2002-05 and the Goalkeeper Coach at Greenhill School from 2001-06 and also served as the Head JV Boys Coach during that time. In 2001, Hason was an assistant coach for the West Dallas Kings, a men's PDL semi-professional soccer team. He was the Director of Coaching and Player Development at the Texas Soccer Zone (2003-04).
In addition, Hason was an assistant coach/player for the Rockwall Raptors (PASL semi-professional team) from 2004-05. He also played for the FC Boby Brno in the Czech Republic, SK Svaty Jur in the Slovak Republic, and the Dallas Sidekicks.
Hason's coaching certifications include USSF National "A" license, USSF National "Youth" license, USSF, Fitness Level 1 license, USSF National"Goalkeeping" license, NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping diploma, and NSCAA Director of Coaching diploma.
