FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about Select Soccer:

Q: Why should I join Mutiny FC?

A: Mutiny FC was developed to give players in the Wylie area and surrounding communities a Competitive Soccer option similar to other large clubs. Mutiny FC allows recreational and competitive players the opportunity to compete against other competitive clubs in North Texas and be trained by professional, college and nationally licensed coaches that volunteer their time for the development of youth athletes. Our teams compete in many of the North Texas Competitive Leagues including Plano Premier and Plano Academy League.

Q: How is Mutiny FC different from other competitive clubs?

A: Mutiny FC provides an affordable and quality competitive soccer experience for our members, parents and players. The club is focused on teaching and developing players to reach their potential as athletes and young adults. Most clubs require a player to travel across town to practice and play. Mutiny FC is managed by people and coaches that live in the Wylie community. Our goal is to allow children that currently attend school, church and community activities together the ability to play soccer together. We are a club that is built in the community, by the community, for the community.

Q: How do I get on a Mutiny team?

A: Players compete for open spots on Mutiny competitive teams. You must attend Club Tryouts in July and offered a contract by our coaches to play on a Mutiny FC team. It is also recommended that you attend open practices in June (see posted schedule). Academy age players (U9 & U10) can request to register for the Mutiny Training Academy and join an existing team. If a team is currently full in the requested age bracket a 2nd team will be formed if there is sufficient interest and players to complete a roster.

Q: What paperwork needs to be completed?

A: The following things must be signed and submitted: Club Tryout sign in sheet (confirmation that you have received a team "fact" sheet from the club), Mutiny Player Contract. Birth Certificate and a Notarized Medical Release.

Q: Where / When are Open Practices and Club Tryouts?

A: Open practices are typically held in June. These practices allow players to come and check out the clubs teams to see if they are interested in joining. Club Tryouts are held July 1st thru July 10th at Founders Park in Wylie. Please check the schedule posted on the web menu for dates and times. Parents must be present at tryouts to sign-in their child.

NOTE: You don't not need to attend all the open practice sessions; please come to as many as you can make. Open practices and CLUB TRYOUTS are free.

Q: What do I get for my Club Dues?

A: Mutiny costs and dues cover all of the following items for the Fall and Spring Seasons. These include: NTSSA fees, League fees, Referee Fees, Uniforms, Mutiny FC ball, bag/backpack, two tournaments, coaching education costs, and WYSA administration costs. It also covers advanced skills training as part of our player development program from our Club Training Staff. The competitive soccer year goes from July 1st thru June 30th of the next year.
